Saddam Nadab, a resident of Koklamari Nadab Para under Pukhria police station in Malda district, was reported missing since May 18. Although originally from Malda, he was living on rent at a relative’s home in English Bazar city. Professionally, Saddam worked as a contractor involved in recruiting laborers from other states. Following his disappearance, his family filed a missing person report at the English Bazar police station.
During the investigation, police found no initial leads regarding Saddam’s whereabouts. The police then took into custody Mamita Nadab, the aunt of the family where Saddam was staying. After sustained interrogation, Mamita admitted that Saddam had been murdered. She informed the police that his body was buried and covered with plaster at her maternal home in Tapan, South Dinajpur.
Acting on this information, English Bazar police, with assistance from Tapan police, recovered the body from the location mentioned by Mamita. The recovered body confirmed the murder. The police investigation is ongoing to uncover further details and identify any other persons involved in the case.
